Oscar award-winning musician A.R. Rahman’s victorious run at awards ceremonies continues with the Mozart of Madras getting nominated in two categories at the 2010 Grammy Awards for his Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack.

‘Jai Ho,’ which won Rahman two Academy Awards and a Golden Globe Award, is nominated in the category of ‘Best Song written for Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media.’ He has also been nominated in the category of ‘Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media.’

This is the first time that the 44-year-old music director has been nominated for the Grammys, popularly known as the Oscars of the music industry.

‘Jai Ho,’ written by Gulzar for the 2008 film, will face off with Bruce Springsteen’s title track for The Wrestler, ‘Once in a Lifetime’ from Cadillac Records, ‘Decode’ from Twilight and ‘The Client’ from Hannah Montana: The Movie.

After getting the two Oscars the musician and singer A.R. Rahman has reached great heights in the world of music. Now Rahman has been invited to perform with the popular girl’s band group pussycat dolls. Rahman will be performing with them at the National Mall next summer on the occasion of the India’s historic participation in the America’s world famous Polo Cup. Many celebrities are being invited to attend the two day event on June 11 and June 12 next year. A Kick-off reception was held on Wednesday and the organizers of the Polo Cup said this event would a memorable event. The captain of the Polo team said this will be the first time that Rahman will be performing with the pussycat dolls in a live concert.
